The book analyzes the history and sources of the naive art style in Latvia, as well as the works of 55 contemporary naive artists, which are mainly expressed in painting and sculpture.
After traveling around Latvia for almost a quarter of a century and identifying more than two hundred naive artists, the author concludes that their works arise from the life path drawn by fate, for their own joy, portraying life not as it is or as it should be, but as seen in dreams. "Nuggets" is the first such extensive study on the existence and development of naive art as a style in Latvia.
