Made from bone china, a very durable material. The Japanese aim was to create something truly unique that would be worthy of the European audience. Talent and perseverance helped them become leaders in the European ceramics market. They used local secrets and decorated their tableware with gold and platinum. Initially, Noritake belonged to the trading company Morimura Brothers (1876), but later the factory moved to the Japanese village of Noritake, after which the company was named.
