This is Roland Barthes' book "Mythologies" in Latvian. It is a famous work by the French semiotician and literary theorist, first published in 1957. "Mythologies" consists of short essays in which Barthes analyzes various popular culture phenomena—advertising, cinema, sports, fashion, food, cars, etc. He shows how everyday things and events acquire "mythical" significance, that is, how society assigns them ideological or symbolic meaning. The book is one of the foundational works in modern cultural and media theory. In the second part, Barthes explains his famous concept of "myth as a second-level semiotic system"—how signs (images, words, events) become carriers of meaning that spread ideology.
