The book was created over two years by a creative working group. Among the authors are historians Agris Dzenis, Sandra Ieviņa, Ināra Znotiņa, photographer Agris Jansons, pastor Āris Kronbergs, nature researcher Guntis Eniņš, and many others. The book's creation was coordinated by publicist Arnis Šablovskis.
The collection is introduced by Māra Zālīte's poems, which have a direct connection to impressions of Slampe, as well as rich illustrative material about the poet's family's deep roots in Slampe.
A special place in the book is occupied by testimonies about the parish's repressed residents, a topic that has been almost untouched until now.
