It is a book in which Freud explains the basic principles of psychoanalysis to non-specialists in simple, easily understandable language, showing the reasons for its effectiveness. He explains what the unconscious is, what libido, repression, transference, or resistance mean, why it is so difficult to accept femininity, what lies behind symptoms, and how dreams are actually formed.
