In the book, the author has attempted to determine who we have been, what has been important to us, and which of the values found in folklore, literature, and more broadly – the culture of previous centuries – we have preserved and why. By naming her book after the "kamolkoks," the author wanted to highlight several things. 1. For Latvians, a "kamols" has symbolized the accumulation and sharing of knowledge. 2. A tree is one of the oldest forms of world representation. Both real yarn
balls and trees, as well as their symbolic counterparts, are still with us in various life situations. Thus, in this case, when thinking about the book's title, the compound word "kamolkoks" emerged on its own.
