The biggest bonus at this price is the hydraulic disc brakes and the bike frame. The sporty geometry means that any finer tuning of the parts will be worth it, as the frame itself will easily keep up even when you start wanting more from your ride.

Shimano hydraulic disc brakes are more powerful (especially in bad weather conditions) and less "fuss" than cable-operated disc brakes. The feel of Shimano hydraulic disc brake levers isn't as sharp as some other options, but many riders like it, and there's no objection to the braking power.
Aspect 45 uses modern tube hydroforming to create a frame that would have cost as much as the entire bike some time ago. Except for the classic round seat tube, every other part of the Aspect frame is designed to maximize strength, reduce weight, and enhance performance. Some of the new hydroforming techniques have made old-school reinforcements at tube junctions unnecessary. Scott's top and down tubes at the steering are significantly widened and reinforced. The top tube is almost square in profile, while the large down tube is ovally stretched on both axes up to the bottom bracket to gain a wide welding area for lateral stiffness. The rear fork stays are curved outward for tire clearance and inward for heel clearance.
The ease of rolling and faster acceleration is a very pleasant feature on a 13.6 kg bike.
It holds as well uphill as it does on descents over rough terrain, mainly due to the 64 cm raised handlebars and a looser steering angle, which gives the handlebars extra stability and allows for safer feeling during descents at higher speeds or over bumps.
