piedāvāto skaidrojumu mūsu eksistencei. Tomēr argumenti par labu Dieva neesamībai birst arī no citām jomām - antropoloģiskās, filozofiskās, ētiskās, fizikas, varbūtības teorijas, pašas teoloģijas utt.
Droši vien varēja iztikt bez asprātībām, par reliģijas neloģiskumu, bet tās patīkami atsvaidzināja lasīšanu. Tiesa uzbrukums antropoloģiskā principa kosmoloģiskajai versijai (ka sešas pamatkonstantes ir precīzi ieregulētas) ir murgains ar visumiem, kas vairojas ar nelielām šo konstanšu mutācijām un izdzīvo tikai dzīvotspējīgākās kombinācijas.
Lai arī tāds Dievs ir maz ticams, tomēr es neizslēdzu, ka eksistē mūsu maņu orgāniem un ierīcēm neaizsniedzmi diapazoni, piemēram, kaut kādas "auras", dvēseles, spoki vai tml. parādības.
Personīgu pārdomu rezultātā man ir radušies jautājumi uz kuriem reliģijai nav atbildes. Kāda ir dvēseles robeža? Ja cilvēkam ir dvēsele, vai tā ir arī mērkaķim, sunim, žurkai, bitei, skudrai, amēbai, vīrusam? Ja jau Dievs būtu tik visvarens - kāpēc viņš no smagām slimībām ļauj (vai liek!) ciest un mirt maziem, ne pie kā nevainīgiem bērniem? Vai tā ir atriebība par grēkiem iepriekšējā dzīvē? Ja jā, tad kāpēc cilvēks neatceras to? Kāpēc kādam būtu jācieš septītajā (vai kādā tur) paaudzē par senču grēkiem esot nevainīgam un neapzinoties par ko ir "sods"? Tas taču ir ļauni. Cik daudz zvērību ir un tiek pastrādātas tieši reliģisku motīvu dēļ?
Šī noteikti ir viena no vērtīgākajām grāmatām, ko esmu izlasījis. Esmu ietaupījis milzīgi daudz laika, neuzsākot bībeles lasīšanu tikai tādēļ, ka tā ir Pasaulē populārākā grāmata.

If you plan to read or are already reading the Bible - don't waste time, read "The God Delusion".
In my case, Dawkins didn't so much shatter illusions as he organized what I couldn't formulate for myself. I completely agree with Mārcis Auziņš, my university lecturer, that Dawkins' arguments about God's non-existence are impossible to disagree with. As a biologist, Dawkins mainly promotes Darwin's theory of evolution, which is much more plausible than the explanation offered by religion for our existence. However, arguments in favor of God's non-existence also come from other fields - anthropological, philosophical, ethical, physics, probability theory, theology itself, etc.
Perhaps it could have done without the witticisms about the illogicality of religion, but they pleasantly refreshed the reading. True, the attack on the cosmological version of the anthropic principle (that the six fundamental constants are precisely tuned) is absurd with universes that multiply with small mutations of these constants and only the most viable combinations survive.
Although such a God is unlikely, I do not rule out the existence of ranges unreachable by our senses and devices, such as some "auras," souls, ghosts, or similar phenomena.
As a result of personal reflections, I have questions to which religion has no answers. What is the boundary of the soul? If a human has a soul, does a monkey, dog, rat, bee, ant, amoeba, virus have one too? If God were so omnipotent - why does he allow (or cause!) innocent children to suffer and die from severe diseases? Is it revenge for sins in a previous life? If so, why doesn't the person remember it? Why should someone suffer in the seventh (or some other) generation for their ancestors' sins being innocent and unaware of the "punishment"? That's evil. How many atrocities are and have been committed precisely for religious motives?
This is definitely one of the most valuable books I have read. I have saved a huge amount of time by not starting to read the Bible just because it is the world's most popular book.
