L, will fit size 40 best, especially if sometimes wearing something thicker underneath, will be tighter for size 42. 53% wool, very warm, yet elegant at the same time. The black back and sides visually slim beautifully, and practically - the black back means no worries about where to sit. Worn little, bought new in a German store last season.
